Tampa Bay Vacations-Tampa

My wife likes to say, Tampa is a workingman's town. She's from Pittsburgh so she would know. Those of us fortunate enough to live here however, appreciate everything we have in the form of entertainment. Your Tampa Bay vacation won't be complete without taking in downtown Tampa.

Beautiful Busch Gardens is a must see for anyone visiting the Tampa Bay area. Especially if it's your first visit. The park, offering great thrill rides, one of North America's largest zoos, live entertainment, and the "Budweiser Clydesdale Horses", is open 365 days a year. Any single-day ticket offers a 2nd visit for free. Florida residents purchasing a single-day ticket have access to the park all year for the price of the single ticket. Adventure Island, conveniently located next door to Busch Gardens, is a water park offering 16 different water attractions, including an enormous 17,000 square foot wave pool for you to try out your surfing skills.

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino, located just off interstate 4 in downtown Tampa, is a complete Tampa Bay vacation resort with over 3200 video slot and poker machines along with a 50 table live-action poker room. The casino recently received their shipment of Vegas-style slot machines. Larger, not to mention more frequent payoffs await your visit to the Hard Rock. Coming this summer, live action card games including Blackjack, Pai-Gow poker and many more table games. (The casino is in the process of hiring 3600 dealers to accomodate the new games. If you're interested in a new career or looking to make a move, Tampa is a great place to live, work, and play.) Seven different restaurants are scattered thruout the resort with everything from deli sandwiches to full course dinners.

If major league sports is your thing, we have the Buccaneers in the NFL, the Lightning hockey team in the NHL, and the Rays major league baseball team. Schedule your Tampa Bay vacation around one of these teams to enhance your enjoyment of our town. Live horse racing is offered December thru Kentucky Derby weekend in May, at Tampa Bay Downs, for those of you who enjoy placing a bet on the horses. Live action poker and simulcast race betting is available year-round.

To many things to do in Tampa to list on one page. You're gonna need more than a week while on your Tampa Bay vacation, to take in everything our area has to offer. Those of us living here enjoy our visitors, (so we can brag about being locals), and hope you make a vacation to Tampa Bay an annual affair.

The Florida Aquarium is another fascinating place to visit when in Tampa. It has more than 10,000 aquatic animals and plants on display for everyone to watch and observe, and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Tampa. Guests can not only look at the plants and animals – they can also watch animal shows. The most popular one has a diver swimming around in a shark tank. Well... Tampa tourism is on its way up!
